Taiping Lake Gardens
This is the first cultivated gardens in the country and is regarded as one of the best. A popular venue for the locals for morning walks and evening jogs, it is very well landscaped. Huge angsana trees arch over the streets here, creating a shady boulevard that expands towards the lake. Nearby is the Taiping War Cemetery, the final resting place of the soldiers who fought in the pacific war against the Japanese.
